Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy in the Transmission Electron Microscope

Media Details
Created 3/16/2004
This image, of a gold scanning tunneling microscope (STM) tip approaching a faceted gold ball sample, was taken using the transmission electron microscope (TEM). We now have the capability of performing scanning tunneling microscopy in the TEM, using a new STM holder manufactured by Nanofactory, in Sweden.
